OK, you’ve been dying to know, and I know I said I wouldn’t reveal until Jason came home next weekend, but he flat-out asked and made me tell him on the phone the other day.
SO, for those of you keeping score, I WAS (more…)

I’ve been a bit busy with life. Work, home, church — you name it, it was calling me away.
1. Yes, I am over the cold.
2. The massive project at my office has finally reached a milestone, so I can maybe leave on time and not be stressed when I get home.
3. Jason has left for one trip, come back, and is away on his second trip for the summer.
4. I put on the IT hat and Caterer hat for our church’s Shavuot celebration a few weeks ago — had to help mom in the kitchen get all the prep work done as well as do the powerpoint slides.
5. I have begun the secret project in my house.
What??? A secret project?? YES!!! I mentioned several posts ago that I would be doing a home improvement project around the house this summer while Jason was away. And right now, he’s in the middle of his trip to Arizona, so it’s the perfect time to do my project. I’ll give some hints, but hopefully none of the hints will give it away too easily. I know MIL sometimes visits my site, and although I know she’ll keep it a secret, I don’t want there to be any way for the surprise to be ruined until he gets home.
Ok, here are a few hints, and I do not apologize for the hints being vague and cryptic:
1. The project is indoors
2. The project is contained to one area of the house
3. The project is messy
4. The project seems to be more tedious to redo than it probably was when the orignial owners did it in the first place
5. My mother is helping (so right there, we’ve eliminated heavy lifting)
6. Jayna has helped on the project (so, it’s not too hard of a project)
7. The project will not be 100% completed by me, but Jason will need to finish it (hopefully this summer)
Happy guessing!

Ugh. My head is killing me. It’s Jayna’s fault. In her own special two-year-old way, she lovingly shares everything with me. Including the latest chest/head congestion bug going around. I know we’re trying to teach her the concept of sharing, but I think we now need to start teaching about hand sanitizer.
So today I am feeling like I want to chop my head off. Or drift into space because of dayquil. Or take a nap. I like taking naps. Maybe I’ll take a nap. Maybe not — boss tends to frown on such behavior. Ok, back to work with me.

As the official start of summer is just around the corner, I begin to think of the many road trips I’ve taken as a child. Most were ordinary visits cross-country to visit grandparents, but a few stick out as stories to tell the grandkids. (more…)

Yes folks, it’s that time of year. Jason has been running ragged with extra practices and dealing with pushy parents who think the coaches aren’t competent. You doubt that last statement? The head coach received a letter from a parent the other day that in not so many words basically lambasted the track coaching staff because their child isn’t placing high enough at meets, and that their child’s basketball coach was a model of coaching competency. Never mind the fact that all the runners seem to be establishing new PRs (personal records) almost every week. *sigh* (more…)
